Models 947 & 948 High-Production Leak Detectors

The Varian, Inc. Models 947 & 948 Leak Detectors are specifically designed for high-productivity testing. By using two primary pumps and high-conductance valve manifolds, these leak detectors deliver very fast cycle times. Using two primary pumps also allows for gross-leak testing (up to atmospheric pressure if the factory-installed gross-leak option is installed).

They can be set to enable single-button pass/fail testing and fully automatic tuning and calibration. The Contra-Flow™ vacuum system design in these leak detectors uses a valve manifold that minimizes cycle times and maximizes reliability and sensitivity without needing liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen can be used in the Model 948 Leak Detector, however, to increase the pumping speed for water vapor and other condensable gases, shortening cycle times even further.

These leak detectors can be equipped with oil-sealed rotary-vane primary pumps or Varian TriScroll® oil-free pumps for extra cleanliness. You also may choose between a Varian, Inc. Turbo-V70 high-vacuum pump or the Turbo-V70D MacroTorr pump for extra sensitivity. Both of the turbo pumps are air-cooled, maintenance-free, fast-starting, and extra-clean.
