HeliTest™ GEN Leak Detector
The Varian, Inc. HeliTest GEN Leak Detector is a unique and powerful instrument specially designed to check for leaks in power plant steam condenser circuits. It uses helium as the tracer gas. The leak-check test may be performed during normal operation of the power plant, and only one operator is needed.
The operator connects the base HeliTest GEN unit to the exhaust of the vacuum pump that creates the low pressure in the condenser. He then carries the Portable Leak Indicator (PLI) with him while he sprays helium on any flange, fitting, or connection to be tested. If a leak is found, the base unit will transmit an alarm message to the PLI by radio.
The operation of the HeliTest GEN Leak Detector is not dependent on the type of fuel used to generate the steam or the vacuum pump employed. |
