Improve Efficiency
The VK 905 is Varian’s response to the need for a fast and effective apparatus for cleaning dissolution vessels that is easy to understand and operate. The VK 905 is easily rolled from station to station to clean vessels in place – without removing them from the dissolution tester. It not only makes the change over process easier, it saves time and reduces breakage of vessels while maintaining proper vessel placement. The VK 905 cleaning head fits securely over any standard vessel making it compatible with most brands of dissolution testers. Its washing ball utilizes a revolving action and high pressure stream to wash vessel interiors.

Clean in Place
The location of each vessel should be adjusted when a vessel is placed in a dissolution bath. At that point the centering is measured and the height adjustment of the paddle or basket is verified – all of this should be performed each time a vessel placed into a dissolution tester. Varian asks: Once your system is properly adjusted, why change any parameters? Why remove the vessels from the dissolution tester at all? With the VK 905, you simply clean the vessels in place to maintain accurate parameters thereby eliminating the time consuming step of verification from future set-ups.

The VK 905 comes pre-programmed with a set cleaning cycle . Difficult samples are easily removed by adding cleaning agents and using the heating capabilities bringing the cleaning fluid to 500 C.

Roll Away with You
Filling the cleaning reservoir is easy and safe with built-in level sensors. Once the reservoir is filled with intended media for cleaning, simply roll the unit into place by the station to be cleaned, and it is ready to go. The VK 905’s wash head is placed over the vessel to be cleaned, and the cleaning cycle begins with a single push of a button. The vacuum pump first evacuates the vessel of spent media followed by a rinse cycle of three predetermined, intermittent intervals of wash fluid. The vacuum pump collects the remaining wash fluid and the cycle is complete. Each one liter vessel is cleaned in less than thirty seconds. The timing of the cycle is calibrated for the majority of tests, however, if more rinse time is desired, simply press the control button again and the VK 905 runs through the wash and final vacuum portion of the cycle.

Spent media flows away from your dissolution tester into a reservior in the base of the wash station. Level sensors safe guard from overfilling or spills. To discard spent media, an evacuation hose is provided that can be placed in any appropriate sink drain to permanently remove waste.

A built-in pump pushes waste into the receptable. Access to the receptacle is provided in case there is a need for neutralization of the media prior to permanent disposal. The reservoir tanks are easily removable when cleaning is required.
