The step-by-step OnTrak TesTcard™ 9 process
Specimen application option 1

1. Collect specimen in a new specimen cup. Gently tear open the foil pouch to remove the device.
| |

2. Fill the pipette provided by squeezing firmly on the large pipette bulb, placing the pipette into the sample and releasing pressure on the bulb.
| |

3. Place the tip of the pipette over the sample well located above the word “Sample” on the TesTcard 9 device and squeeze the bulb to dispense the specimen into the well.
| |

4. Allow the test to proceed until a blue band forms in the “Test Valid” area (see example) for each strip. The TesTcard 9 device may be placed flat or held face up, horizontally while the test is developing. Test is not complete until a blue band forms in the “Test Valid” area. Once the “Test Valid” line appears, read and record results.
Note: a smear of color will be observed as the reaction proceeds along each test strip. Wait for this to clear.
| |

Results
The presence of a blue band below the test name indicates a negative result. The lack of color below the test name indicates a positive result. In this example, methamphetamine is positive and the remainder of the test results are negative.
Note: The horizontal location of the bands indicating a negative result may vary.

Specimen application option 2

1. Collect specimen in a new specimen cup. Gently tear open the foil pouch to remove the device.

2. Gently immerse the TesTcard 9 device into the specimen until the specimen reaches the bottom of the TesTcard 9 name on the device and immediately remove. Do not immerse the entire device into the specimen.

3. Remove the TesTcard 9 device from the specimen by tapping the device along the inside edge of the cup to remove excess sample.

4. Allow the test to proceed until a blue band forms in the “Test Valid” area (see example) for each strip. The TesTcard 9 device may be placed flat or held face up, horizontally while the test is developing. Test is not complete until a blue band forms in the “Test Valid ” area. Once the “Test Valid ” line appears, read and record results.
