The step-by-step OnTrak OraTube™ process

1. Have donor keep foam collector in the mouth until soaked thoroughly (up to three minutes). They should not chew or suck on foam.

2. The administrator should place the collector foam-first into the expressor in the tube.

3. Gently push the collector down into the expresser. You will feel some resistance about 2/3 the way down; push past this to reach the bottom of the expresser. The saliva will flow into the tube.
Note: It is important that a minimum of 1 mL of sample is collected.

4. Lift the collector out of the tube. The expresser will be removed with it. Throw both pieces away.

5. Firmly and tightly screw the cap onto the tube for shipping. Place chain-of-custody tape over cap. Complete the Chain-of-Custody lab form and package properly in biohazard bag provided. Pack into a corrugated cardboard box for shipping to lab.
