Focus? Delivers the Highest Recoveries for Polar and and Non-Polar Drugs
Compare Focus to Today’s Most Popular SPE Technology An independent pharmaceutical lab performed a rigorous study to evaluate the performance of Focus. The results were then compared to two popular polymeric SPE products. In the end, there was no comparison. Focus clearly outperformed the competition with cleaner extracts and better recovery over a broad spectrum of drugs.
The Highest Recovery for Polar and Non-Polar Analytes Focus is the perfect choice for simultaneously extracting both polar and non-polar analytes. Used in early bioanalysis, it can effectively extract an extraordinarily broad range of polar and non-polar drugs. Used in DMPK and clinical studies, it is especially effective for quantitatively extracting both parent drug and metabolites at ultra low levels.

Experimental Conditions Plasma samples were spiked to a concentration of 100 ng/mL for each of the seven drugs and diluted 1:1 with water. 200 μL of sample were added to wells preconditioned by passing 1 mL methanol followed by 1 mL water. After sample application, the wells were rinsed with 1 mL water followed by 1 mL 10% acetonitrile and eluted with 1 mL 60:30:10:0.1 methanol, acetonitrile, water, trifluoroacetic acid (v/v/v/v). Standards for recovery from plasma were handled similarly and spiked post elution. All samples were evaporated and reconstituted in 150 μL mobile phase prior to injection of 15 μL into LC/MS/MS. Competitor samples were handled according to the manufacturer's suggested “generic” method.
