Economical Cartridge System
Using Varian's ChromSep Cartridge System is one way that we can help you achieve cost savings in today's competitive economic environment. The most expensive part on any HPLC column is the end fittings.
If your laboratory uses conventional columns, every time you throw away a spent column you are probably throwing away end fittings that could be reused. The Varian ChromSep Cartridge System addresses this dilemma. With our system you only buy the expensive part once. The next time a column needs to be replaced you simply remove the spent cartridge and replace it with a new cartridge.
An additional opportunity to save on column costs is with the option to buy replacement cartridges in our economy packs of three.
Easy to Use
In addition to being economical and flexible, the ChromSep Cartridge System is also easy to use. When it is necessary to replace the cartridge, no tools are required. Simply remove the finger-tight end fittings, replace the spent cartridge, tighten the end fittings and you are ready to perform your next analysis. When replacing the cartridge you do not even have to break the fluid connection at the column inlet or outlet.
Choosing the right ChromSep Cartridge System
There are two ways to purchase a ChromSep Cartridge System.
One method is to simply purchase the complete system as listed in the catalog. When the guard cartridge is spent, you can purchase a replacement 5-pack. If the analytical cartridge needs to be replaced you have the choice of purchasing either one or three analytical cartridges of the same length as that of the original.
Components of the ChromSep hardware kits
The second method is to build a system to meet your own application needs. You may purchase a ChromSep Hardware Kit for a specific length column.

For example if you need a 15 cm analytical column then you would select Hardware Kit part number CP23084. |

For example for a 10 cm column kit you would need 2 column end nuts (CP23080), 2 column end fittings (CP28246), and 1 column housing (CP23081) | This latter option is especially useful if you need to change column lengths on a frequent basis to accommodate changes in application requirements.
? For example if you want to go from a 10 cm column to a 25 cm column the only additional part you would need to add would be the column housing (CP23087).
The ChromSep system gives you the flexibility to choose the option that best fits your needs.
