Uptime is maintained and network reconfiguration is unnecessary with Galaxie. Additional servers can be added without reconfiguration.

Dedicated PCs for existing instruments are largely eliminated. Instruments connect via Ethernet or Star 800 Module Interface Boxes. Galaxie's Star 800 MIBs, with Ethernet connectivity, replace multiple PCs and can reside anywhere on a network. Star 800's support many communication protocols allowing control of a wide range of instrument models from multiple vendors.
